Statement of Intent
The intent of the Advent Prayer Ministry is to glorify God and to edify others by praying together for the wholeness Christ desires in each person. The Advent House Ministry is a Christ-centered, prayer filled, compassionate and confidential ministry. It is an integral part of the Body of Christ in the life of the Cathedral Church of the Advent and Christ’s Great Commission.
About Advent House
Advent House is a center for prayer, teaching and retreat. It is also used by visiting missionaries, seminarians, guest speakers and teachers. The ministry of the Advent House is based on faith in the Lord, and fully depending on the redemptive, healing, life-giving work of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
With Advent House being a place of prayer and encouragement of growth in faith, it is a witness of absolute trust in Christ, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This Ministry of Prayer is led by The Reverend Peter Newton and Mrs. Janice Newton, who work as volunteers. The Newtons bring 30 years of experience of praying for people’s needs in parish work in Nottingham, England. Peter and Janice have trained a prayer team that continues the work begun by them when they are back home in England.
