In addition to our many Sunday morning offerings and other special classes throughout the year, we offer the following regularly scheduled weekday Bible studies:
Monday Morning Bible Study
Mondays from 7 to 8:00 a.m. (at Advent Park)
A wonderfully engaging study of the Word of God for men and women, led by one of the most respected biblical scholars today. Dr. Allen Ross of Beeson Divinity School will resume this Bible study this fall, examining the epistles Paul wrote while in prison: Colossians, Philippians, Ephesians and Philemon. This study meets each week from September through May at Advent Park.
Sunrise Sinners: Breakfast and the Bible
Thursdays from 7 to 8:00 a.m.
Hot breakfast served promptly at 7:00 am. Gather early for coffee then join us for a Bible study that will feature the Bible text(s) that will be used in the upcoming Sunday’s sermon. Short teaching and discussion. Led by Dean Limehouse in the Refectory, September through May.
Men’s Bible Study
Thursdays from Noon to 1:00 p.m.
Lunch is served and the style is a combination of lecture and discussion. We study a book of the Bible and are currently working through Revelation. Though each class builds upon another, they are designed to stand alone so newcomers are always welcome. Led by Canon Smalley in the upstairs Conference Room.
Women’s Bible StudyThursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (in the Undercroft)
Fridays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. (at Latimer House)
This lecture style class has been working chronologically through the Bible and is studying Matthew through the end of 2011. Canon Pearson will be leading the class through the Gospel of John starting in January 2012. Although classes build on each other, each one is designed to stand alone, so newcomers are always welcome. On Thursdays, there is a nursery with a children’s program associated with the class and you should bring a lunch for your child. On Thursdays the class is held in the Undercroft. On Fridays it’s at Latimer House, 2828 Culver Road in Mountain Brook Village.
