The Advent has offered a Lenten Preaching series every weekday during Lent for over one hundred years, featuring preachers from around the country and around the world; and our concurrent Episcopal Church Women’s Lenten Lunches program serves thousands of meals to raise money for Outreach and Missions.
We are still welcoming volunteers – cooks, bakers, wait staff, cashiers, servers – all types of positions are available. Take advantage of this wonderful way to be involved and meet new people! We will also be selling discounted lunch tickets and accepting sponsorships right up until Lent begins. For more information on volunteering, tickets, and sponsorships, please email LentenLunches@CathedralAdvent.com.

Feeding Body and Soul
For more than 100 years, the Lenten Preaching Series and Lenten Lunches program have provided incredible opportunities for evangelism, fellowship, and service within the Advent and beyond. 2015 was no exception. Under the direction of Chairmen Fontaine Pope, Lynn Cassady, and Marcus Cassimus, our Lenten Lunches program raised over $43,000 for local and global Christ-centered ministries. Because of your support of this beloved Advent tradition, high school students will have text books, homeless men will have housing, and adults will have the opportunity to earn their GED and receive vocational training. I thank God for each of you who labored, sponsored supplies, and/or ingested the delicious offerings lovingly prepared by our members.
Please join me in praying for our 2016 Lenten season. I look forward to another season of clear eyes, full hearts (Friday Night Lights), and food for the body and soul.
Our 2016 Lenten Lunch chairs are Cece Martin and Sidney Clapp; please pray for them!
