The Advent has offered a Lenten Preaching series every weekday during Lent for over one hundred years, featuring preachers from around the country and around the world; and our concurrent Episcopal Church Women’s Lenten Lunches program serves thousands of meals to raise money for Outreach and Missions.
Anne-Marie Brown and Carla Reich are serving as 2014 Lenten Lunch Chairs (shown here with Canon Deborah Leighton and Dean Andrew Pearson).
Prepaid (and discounted) lunch tickets are on sale now. These make great gifts for friends and family.
Volunteers are the key to the success of this ministry. There are many opportunities to share your talents. If you are interested in serving in this very rewarding and fun ministry, please stop by the table in Clingman Commons or contact Anne-Marie (879-8715), or Carla (601-5002).
A shuttle bus will travel to the church from the parking lot of Shades Valley Presbyterian Church each weekday of Lent. The bus will leave Shades Valley Presbyterian (located at 2305 Montevallo Road, 35223) at 11:30 a.m. and return no later than 1:30 p.m.
Lenten Lunches will be served March 5 – April 17.
