Mr. Cameron Cole [left] is our Director of Youth Ministries. Cameron has a B.A. in Latin and English and an M.A. in Education, all from Wake Forest; and he is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary. He has been the Director of Youth Ministries since December of 2005.

His ministry passions include mission trips, studying the Bible, discussing theology, hearing people’s stories, starting new programs, viewing the Gospel through the arts, and helping students and parishioners use their “everyday gifts” for the advancement of the Kingdom.

Cameron is a founder of and regular contributor to the Rooted Ministry, focused on the theology of grace and its application in the lives of students. He and his wife Lauren have a son, Cameron Jr., born in 2010, and a daughter, Mary Matthews, born in 2012.

Ms. Sarah Seibels [left] joins our staff May 27 as Associate Youth Director. Sarah was born and raised here in Birmingham and grew up attending the Advent.

For the last few years she has been in Charlottesville where she graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Art History and Economics.  Feeling unexpectedly drawn towards ministry, she received the amazing opportunity to spend the last year as a fellow at Christ Episcopal Church. There her love for the Word and an overwhelming appreciation for God’s grace grew exponentially.

Sarah loves downtown Birmingham, corny jokes, and great BBQ.

We have  two interns for our Junior High ministries. Danielle Lee and Jay Gardner serve as part-time youth ministers, focusing on Sunday school, trips, and relational discipleship with our students:

Danielle Lee is originally from Madison, MS. She graduated from Mississippi State University in May of 2010 with a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. While in college, she was a camp counselor at Camp Ozark for two summers and served as the chaplain of her sorority. After graduating, Danielle completed a one-year internship at MSU with Campus Crusade for Christ.  She is currently serving out a one-year internship with Servant Life, a non-profit mission-mobilizing organization.

Jay Gardner is a seminary student pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Beeson Divinity School here in Birmingham. In January he and his wife, Paige, moved to Birmingham after they both completed their Bachelor’s degrees at UA-Huntsville (Jay in Philosophy and Music, Paige in Elementary Education). Outside of reading and studying, Jay enjoys racquetball, swimming, cooking, and playing/singing/listening to music. Above all else he seeks to further know and worship the Holy Trinity revealed to us in Scripture, and he hopes to lead others towards that same end. Soli Deo Gloria!

Caroline Brady [left] is our Spring 2013 youth intern, working primarily with high school girls. Caroline grew up going to the Advent and attended Christ Church in Charlottesville while studying at the University of Virginia. She is thrilled to be working with Advent youth for the semester that she is back in Birmingham.
