Having been a lifelong member of another denomination, I was confirmed in the Episcopal Church at the Advent soon after Bob and I married in 2007. I quickly became involved in many women’s ministries, Bible studies, and groups, including co-chairing Lenten Lunches in 2014.
When Bob retired several years ago, we found that we had the chance to do studies as a couple, and we joined our current Small Group in the fall of 2023. The experience has been one of unparalleled joy. We have come to really know folks we previously only knew casually in church, and through them, we have seen the depth of our relationship with our Savior grow immeasurably. In the sometimes-chaotic world in which we try to survive, it is profoundly invigorating to be able to “unplug” mid-week to study the Word of God, to learn and socialize with fellow parishioners, immersed in the Gospel and sharing in the richness of His presence.
The experience has been transformative, and we would encourage any of our brothers and sisters in Christ to take advantage of one of the truly profound “heartbeats” of our church.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
