This is something we are seeing here in the U.S. as well.  To lose this genre would be a significant loss, not just musically, but theologically.  At the Advent, we continue to have the services that the interviewee says are all but gone in England.  And by God’s grace, we will continue to have.

Even so, what does it look like for the Advent to raise up and train future leaders in church music?  Are we content to hope that there are those out there whose resumes will show up?  As we see in the U.K., we hope in vain.  I think the answer is rather than pull back, we double down on what we do here at the Advent.
