Ben DeHart accepts call to St. John’s Park Slope

Dear Parish Family,

I write to share news and to invite your prayers as the Reverend Canon Ben DeHart makes the transition to serve as Rector of St. John’s Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York. I am excited for Ben and Chelsy in this next step of their shared life and ministry.

Ben joined our staff after serving at the Parish of Calvary-St. George’s in New York City. Joining our team in a period of transition was a blessing for our church, and I am grateful for the time that we shared together in ministry.

This move is a natural next step for Ben. After numerous years in ordained ministry, he will have the opportunity to shepherd a congregation. Ben is a gifted preacher and teacher, a faithful pastor and friend; Ben and Chelsy will be a blessing to the congregation of St. John’s.

That we were able to enjoy the benefits of his gifts and call, and able to play a role in preparing him for this next chapter of ministry, is something which leads me to say, thanks be to God.

Ben’s final Sunday with us will be March 19. In the interim, I hope you will have an opportunity to visit with Ben and Chelsy and to join me in extending our love, prayers, and continued partnership in the Gospel.

The Lord be with you.
