Join us this Thursday, May 9, right after the Choral Eucharist, as Fred Teardo, our Director of Music and Organist, presents The Ascension. This four-movement suite, composed by the 20th-century French artist Olivier Messiaen, will be performed. Originally crafted for orchestra in 1933, Messiaen later adapted it for the organ, introducing new music in lieu of the third movement to better suit the instrument. Each movement bears evocative titles depicting the Ascension, vividly depicted through the music’s power.
Experience the celebration of our Lord’s Ascension and worship in the splendid sanctity of this occasion.
