This is, by far, the best piece that I have read from our Presiding Bishop. Maybe the best from the last 30 years!
Bishop Curry articulates an understanding of Anglican eucharistic theology that the vast majority of Episcopal clergy do not hold. He is right biblically and historically, ‘whatever men may say.’ (I would, of course, take exception to the insistence on having Holy Communion for every gathering). As the bishop points out, ‘few would suggest that the experience of Morning Prayer somehow limited God’s presence and love to generations of Anglican Christians.’ This is certainly our experience here and now at the Advent.
