Grades 1-6 Curriculum Overview
First Grade: Room 104
We learn about the life of Jesus – his significance, his miracles, his parables, his teachings, and his sermons.
Second Grade: Room 216
We will learn more about God’s amazing gift to us: the most special book in the world. You will be given a Bible, and learn how to use it. Throughout the year we work on memorizing Psalm 23. At the end the year, we present our Annual Second Grade Bible Play.
Third Grade: Room 213
We learn all about the Old Testament: the beginnings of Creation, the Patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), the Exodus (Moses), the Judges, the Kings, and the Major and Minor Prophets.
Fourth Grade: Room 311
We learn about Jesus as we study the New Testament through the eyes of his followers.
Fifth Grade: Room 307
This year, we will be following the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum (studying prophets including Elijah, Elisha, Jonah, Hosea, Isaiah, Hezekiah, Jeremiah, Habakkuk and Ezekiel)! Save the Date for our beloved Christmas Pageant on December 22!
Sixth Grade: Room 310
The first half of the year is spent studying the Bible and what it has to say to the myriad of questions which we begin to face in sixth grade, while the second semester finds one of the most important steps many of us ever take: Confirmation.
