Lent at the Advent means preaching, eating, and fellowship. For more than a century, thousands have gathered to hear the Word preached in a way that enlivens, confronts, encourages, and clarifies. The emphasis we place on preaching “Christ and him crucified” – nothing other than the gospel of God’s love for sinners – is in full focus during lent.
The lunches (and desserts!) create so many opportunities for connections; it is impossible to say how many friendships have been formed and strengthened during the making and enjoying of the lunches. We hope you can “taste and see” that this is true.
We are glad you are here, and hope you will come back often!
Proceeds from this year’s Lenten Lunches support disadvantaged women and children at Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and the Anglican Church’s Diocese of Rwanda (Shyira Diocese).
