The Advent is delighted to announce the good news that Carolyn Lankford will be serving as our Interim Director of Women’s Ministries, starting in early June.
A long-time Adventer, Carolyn has twice before served in positions on the Advent’s staff. Her wealth of experience and wisdom, coupled with the relationships she already has with so many of us already, will serve our church family well. Having been very involved for many years in our women’s ministry, she will be able to transition quickly into this role.
We have been diligently searching for Deborah Leighton’s successor for more than a year. Carolyn coming on board on an interim basis affords us the freedom to continue to wait on the Lord’s provision, as we continue to seek our next leader of that ministry. The difficulty in finding suitable candidates, coupled with COVID-19, has led us to call an interim. We expect the interim to last for at least a year, but not more than three.
Carolyn comes to us from her position at Beeson Divinity School, where she serves as its Advancement and Development Officer. She will be taking a few weeks to finish her service at Beeson well, before joining us next month. Please join with us in prayers of thanksgiving for Carolyn, for the Lord’s provision in calling her back to our staff, and for her leadership of our women’s ministry during this next season of our life together.
