Women’s Retreat 2025

We need more God in our lives, not more to-dos!

When we mistake spiritual disciplines—prayer, Scripture reading, giving, etc.—for to-dos, time slots on our schedules, or Instagram-able moments, we miss the benefits of Christ’s continual and constant work for us. We begin to feel weary and disappointed in ourselves, and we begin to believe we are bad Christians.

Join us for this year’s women’s retreat, Ragged: Spiritual Disciplines for the Spiritually Exhausted, Friday-Sunday, August 15-17, at Camp McDowell. Author, podcast co-host, and 1517 contributor Gretchen Ronnevik will lead us to reframe our understanding of spiritual disciplines as good gifts given by our good Father rather than heavy burdens of performance carried by the Christian. Gretchen’s teaching will emphasize the good news that spiritual disciplines have less to do with what we bring before God and more about who Christ is for us—the author and perfector of our faith.

In addition to her published books, Gretchen has contributed articles to 1517Christianity Today, Mere Orthodoxy, and Mockingbird. Gretchen and her husband, Knut, have 6 children, ranging in age from elementary school through college.

The deadline to register is Thursday, July 31. Register here or through your Realm account to join us for a relaxed, refreshing, and rich weekend.
