These are certainly challenging and scary times for all of us, including our children. The Advent Youth Ministry desires to encourage and support our students in Christ as much, if not more, than we normally do, even though we cannot gather in person. We think some level of normalcy, connection, and Christian encouragement is important for our students. Self-quarantining, in response to COVID-19 (also known as coronavirus), is appropriate and yet it can be very isolating for our kids.
Here are a few updates we wanted to pass on regarding how our ministry will continue during this time. In general, everything will move to Zoom teleconferencing software so we can have community and teaching while still being safe and prudent. Zoom is like FaceTime but can facilitate more people and tends to be more reliable.
(1) Sunday School – We will have Jr. High and Sr. High Sunday school from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. via Zoom. It will follow the simulcast of the worship service.
(2) Relationships / Contact Work – Right now we will not be meeting with students in person but are making an effort to text, call on the phone, etc.
(3) Small Groups – Small groups will move online through Zoom. See schedule below.
